Why "Alabaster"?
The name “Alabaster Counseling” is inspired by 2 Corinthians 4:7, “But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.”
Jars of clay, also called alabaster jars were once very common household items. They were used for storage and even toilets. Simple , common vessels , made from dirt, nothing special about them. Much like us without the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. As therapists, those of us at Alabaster know we have no valuable skill or ability to offer to our clients, but it is the Holy Spirit who dwells in us that equips us to help individuals along on their healing journeys.
